Leonardo da Vinci's Masterpieces in High Resolution Hit Italian Cinemas
The first documentary of the new season of 'La Grande Arte al cinema', a successful series curated by Nexo Digital, is dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci's (1452-1519) painting production. From January 13 to 15, Italian screens will feature high-definition versions of his most famous works, including the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Lady with an Ermine, Ginevra de' Benci, Madonna Litta, and Virgin of the Rocks. The film aims to retrace Leonardo's life through the prism of his painting, covering his inventiveness, sculptural abilities, foresight in military engineering, and political acumen. Interviewees include Luke Syson (Director of the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge), Martin Kemp (Professor Emeritus, Trinity College, Oxford), Larry Keith (Head of Conservation and Keeper, National Gallery, London), Mikhail Piotrovsky (Director, State Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg), Andrzej Betlej (Director, National Museum, Krakow), and Tim Marlow (Art Historian and Artistic Director, Royal Academy of Arts, London).
