Leonardo da Vinci Drawings on View at Museo Leonardo3 in Milan

Museo Leonardo3 in Milan, located between Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and Piazza della Scala opposite Leonardo's statue, is presenting three original drawings by Leonardo da Vinci on loan from the Biblioteca Ambrosiana. The exhibition includes a 1490 study of a horse related to the never-realized Sforza monument, a circa 1510 geometric 'mazzocchio' from the Codex Atlanticus, and a 1515-1518 portrait of Leonardo by his pupil Francesco Melzi. The museum, founded eleven years ago, emphasizes interactive and didactic museology, allowing visitors to build self-supporting bridges with wooden blocks. The show is supported by Leonardo scholar Martin Kemp and the Nuova Fondazione Rossana & Carlo Pedretti. The drawings are displayed in the Sala del Cenacolo beneath a scale reconstruction of the Last Supper. The museum challenges traditional sacred museum models, blending art and science in an experiential approach.
