Léon Bloy's 'Le Pal' Republished, Surrealist Texts and Labarthe Book Released

Léon Bloy's short-lived 1885 weekly 'Le Pal', created to denounce the press of his time, has been republished with an introduction by Patrick Kéchichian. Bloy, author of 'Le Mendiant ingrat' and 'Le Désespéré', deliberately cultivated a marginal literary career through provocative attacks on journalists. His vitriolic style, rich in insults, later influenced degraded forms by far-right pamphleteers. Concurrently, a collection of surrealist texts titled 'Il y aura une fois' has been published in Folio to coincide with an exhibition at the Centre Pompidou. Additionally, a book by Valérie Cadet on filmmaker André S. Labarthe, featuring texts and photographs by Patrick Messina, explores Labarthe's films on writers Sollers, Bataille, and Artaud for the TV series 'Un siècle d'écrivains' by Bernard Rapp. Labarthe, known for his paradoxical views on cinema and image, is highlighted as an unclassifiable filmmaker.
