Lélia Demoisy's cedar-based works explore living diversity at Galerie By Lara Sedbon

exhibition · 2026-04-17

Lélia Demoisy is showcasing her second exhibition at Galerie By Lara Sedbon in Paris, highlighting creations made from a Himalayan cedar tree located on her family's property in Yvelines. After the tree was cut down by its new owners, Demoisy reclaimed the wood, crafting pieces such as 'La Peau' (2025), 'Astragale' (2025), and 'La Flèche' (2026). This exhibition celebrates living diversity and features smaller works named 'Possibilité,' which incorporate a mix of materials. Since 2016, Demoisy has explored the hybridization of the animal and plant worlds. In 'La Descendance,' she preserves around three hundred cedar seeds as part of her art. Prices vary from 1,600 to 25,000 euros. A larger showcase is scheduled at Domaine de Chamarande in Essonne from May 10 to August 30.
