Leica Reveals Q Cameras Outsell M Rangefinders by Twofold or More

other · 2026-08-04

At the unveiling of the Leica SL3-P in Wetzlar, Germany, Andrea Pacella, Leica's VP, disclosed that the Q series cameras outsell the entire M system by a factor of at least two. He emphasized that Leica sells every Q camera manufactured and opts for premium pricing over increasing production. The company has three Q3 variants: the original Q3 (released in May 2023), the Q3 43 (launched in 2024), and the Q3 Monochrom (debuted in late 2022). Pacella indicated that approximately two-thirds of purchasers select the standard 28mm Q3, priced at $7,350, while the Q3 43 and Q3 Monochrom are available for $7,950. The standard Q3 was recognized as the "biggest seller" in FY2024/25 last September.
