LEGO Unveils 'The X-Files' Set with 1,487 Pieces and Eight Minifigures

LEGO has announced a new set inspired by the iconic 1990s TV series 'The X-Files,' which aired from 1993 to 2002. The set, comprising 1,487 pieces, recreates FBI agent Fox Mulder's office, a forest scene, and a hovering UFO. It is filled with Easter eggs such as a 'The Truth is Out There' tile, an 'I Want to Believe' poster, an X-Files dossier, sunflower seeds, and pencils stuck in the ceiling. The set includes eight minifigures: Dana Scully, Fox Mulder, Walter Skinner, Mr. X, Alex Krycek, Carl Busch, The Flukeman, and a gray alien. Builders can display Mulder's office open or partially disassembled, and the forest diorama can be showcased alone or atop the office with the UFO on a transparent stand. The design originated from Brisbane-based 3D artist Brent Waller, who submitted it to the LEGO Ideas platform as part of the '90s Nostalgia Challenge. Waller expressed his excitement about the set becoming official, noting he originally built Mulder's office in 2014. To announce the set, LEGO released a short film featuring Gillian Anderson reprising her role as Scully. Anderson praised the set's detail and the celebration of the show's fans. The set goes on sale August 1 for Early Access and August 4 for the general public, with a free 'Scully's Lab' gift for orders before August 10.
