Lego Braille Bricks: Learning Braille Through Play

other · 2026-04-26

Lego has launched Braille Bricks, a set designed to teach braille through play. The set includes 287 bricks in five colors (white, yellow, green, red, blue) with studs arranged to correspond to braille letters and numbers, plus printed symbols. Compatible with standard Lego, the set targets children aged 6 and up, aiming to make braille learning inclusive for blind, visually impaired, and sighted individuals. Martine Abel-Williamson, President of the World Blind Union, praised the initiative as a step toward independence and inclusion. The first sets, in English and French, are available for preorder from August 24, 2023, with general release on September 1, 2023; other languages will follow next year.
