LegalCheck, a novel system combining Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Context-Augmented Generation (CAG), automates drafting of objection response letters for Dutch public-sector legal departments. Using a large language model (LLM) and curated legal knowledge bases, it retrieves relevant laws and precedents, incorporating case-specific details via controlled prompting. An expert-in-the-loop review ensures legal soundness. Deployed in the Municipality of Amsterdam, LegalCheck produces near-final advice letters in minutes instead of hours, maintaining high legal consistency.
