Leela Keshav Named Inaugural Writer-in-Residence for Hauser & Wirth and ArtReview’s ‘Write Now’ Programme

Leela Keshav has been appointed as the inaugural writer-in-residence for the ‘Write Now’ initiative, a joint effort by Hauser & Wirth and ArtReview. Stationed at the Hauser & Wirth location in Bruton, Somerset, UK, Keshav created a collection of writings that delve into themes of natural and cultural environments, the interplay between humans and nonhumans, and worldwide discussions surrounding anthropocentrism and the concept of time. Her portfolio features a semi-fictitious narrative involving Purbeck Thornback, Jenny Holzer, Anne Carson, and Sappho, focusing on translation and materiality. A Canadian spatial practitioner and writer, Keshav is an Architectural Association graduate and a former New Architecture Writers participant. Her research tackles issues of colonial botany, reparations, and conservation beyond the human-nature divide. She has contributed to Architectural Review, ROOM Magazine, Unootha Magazine, and Chutney Magazine.
