Leandro Erlich's First Major French Retrospective Opens at Grand Palais in 2026

exhibition · 2026-06-01

From June 2 to September 6, 2026, Leandro Erlich will showcase his first significant retrospective in France at the Grand Palais in Paris. Curated alongside Fabrice Bousteau, this exhibition has been in the works for almost ten years, following Erlich's 2017 presentation at the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo. It will include nearly 40 architectural models and large-scale immersive installations, featuring updated versions of renowned works such as Infinite Staircase and Port of Reflections. Having resided in Paris from 2001 to 2006, Erlich regards the city as a 'cultural lighthouse.' He also contemplates the influence of social media on his art, addressing themes of truth, fiction, ecological issues, and politics, to offer an extensive overview of his career since 1993.
