Leaked Audios Allege Pro-Israel Groups Funded Trump Pardon of Honduran Ex-President

Audio messages leaked by the Spanish news outlet Canal RED indicate that pro-Israel organizations played a role in securing a pardon for former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernández (JOH), who has a conviction for drug trafficking. The recordings suggest that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was significantly involved in the pardon process. In return, Hernández purportedly consented to relinquish control over development zones, a US military installation, and to foster a legal framework beneficial to American and Israeli AI firms. This scheme aims to reinstate Hernández as president, with current leader Nasry Asfura serving as a temporary figure. The pardon was granted on December 1, 2025, following the Honduran elections. Hernández was sentenced to 45 years in 2024 for trafficking 400 tonnes of cocaine. The audios also reference Roger Stone and Republican caucus efforts for the pardon. Canal RED plans to release additional recordings. Hernández has denied the claims but has not pursued defamation charges.
