Leah Ke Yi Zheng Selected for ArtReview's Future Greats 2026, Exhibiting at New Museum and Renaissance Society

artist · 2026-04-20

Leah Ke Yi Zheng, a Chinese artist from Wuyishan, has been chosen by Martin Herbert for ArtReview's Future Greats 2026. Currently residing in Chicago, Zheng creates translucent silk paintings that blend digital culture with historical themes, incorporating antique devices such as the fusee and Leibniz's 1694 stepped reckoner. Her work employs traditional Chinese methods and warped mahogany stretchers, along with I Ching hexagrams. In 2024, her art will be displayed in Los Angeles alongside John Cage's pieces. Zheng's solo exhibition, Change, I Ching (64 Paintings), is on view at Chicago's Renaissance Society until April 12, featuring all 64 hexagrams as one cohesive work. Additionally, her art will appear in New Humans: Memories of the Future at New York's New Museum in March.
