Le Vie dei Tesori Expands from Palermo to Milan, Mantua, and Valtellina
For the first time, Le Vie dei Tesori, a cultural festival established in 2006 in Palermo to celebrate Sicily's heritage, is set to expand into northern Italy. The event, which drew 300,000 attendees in Palermo in 2017 and generated over €3 million in tourism revenue, will host pilot weekends on October 20-21 and 27-28, 2018, in Milan, Mantua, and Valtellina. With support from local municipalities and partners, the festival will showcase seldom-seen locations in Milan, such as Cappella Grifi and the church of Santi Giovanni Battista e Carlo Borromeo. In Mantua, guests can visit Palazzo Te and Palazzo Magnaguti, while Valtellina will highlight sites associated with Ludovico Ariosto's Orlando Furioso. Italo Scaietta, president of Fidam, emphasized Milan's hidden gems.
