Le Stazioni Opens 15th Art Space in Milan with Invitation to a Disaster
On September 27, 2018, Carlo Cinque inaugurated Le Stazioni, a new art space at via Melchiorre Gioia 135 in Milan. This is the 15th station of a project he started in 2015. The inaugural exhibition, Invitation to a Disaster, features works by Antonio Trimani (born 1969 in Cosenza) and Matteo Montani (born 1972 in Rome). The space is intentionally deconstructed and violent, with torn walls and dark-light contrasts, creating a cathartic, labyrinthine experience. Trimani contributes video works of natural elements, while Montani creates sinuous painted forms. The exhibition includes a "vanishing painting" performance by Montani and a sound intervention by Trimani on the terrace, where a luminescent sculpture by Montani and a light star by Trimani with sound effects of falling stars are displayed. Cinque describes the project as a continuous journey of experimentation, with upcoming stations planned for 2019 in New York, Zurich, and a private beach near Positano. Le Stazioni also has a permanent base at via Vincenzo Foppa 46 in Milan, called StazioneBASE.
