Le sentiment des choses at Frac Île de France Le Plateau
Curators Élodie Royer and Yoann Gourmel are unveiling a series of three exhibitions at Le Plateau, titled 'Le sentiment des choses,' which embraces the Japanese concept of mono no aware. This exhibition showcases works by the Italian artist Bruno Munari (1907-1998) and includes pieces from Robert Filiou, Clément Rodzielski, Chitti Kasemkitvana, Julien Crépieux, Bruno Persat, Ryan Gander, Isabelle Cornaro, and Martino Gamper. Among the highlights are Kasemkitvana's object-driven installation Mo(nu)ment/(…)/mem(y)orial and Crépieux's guards' chairs, now swings. Filiou’s Galerie légitime (1968-1970) is paired with Munari’s sculptures, while Gander's 2010 work plays with shadows from Calder and Munari's mobiles. The exhibition runs from December 15, 2011, to February 26, 2012.
