Le Palais de mémoire: French Scene Spotlighted with Marcel Duchamp Prize

The exhibition 'Le Palais de mémoire' at the Dacia-Romania Palace in Bucharest, running until May 14, 2023, showcases eight artists and two duos nominated for the Marcel Duchamp Prize over the past fifteen years. Curated by Daria de Beauvais, the show explores memory, history, and imagination, leveraging the palace's layered past. Organized by the Association pour la diffusion internationale de l'art français (Adiaf) with Art Safari and the French Embassy in Romania, the exhibition features works by Farah Atassi, Daniel Dewar & Grégory Gicquel, Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige, Thu-Van Tran, Enrique Ramirez, Tatiana Trouvé, Katinka Bock, Clément Cogitore, Mircea Cantor, and Michel Blazy. Highlights include Hadjithomas & Joreige's archaeological core samples from Paris sites, Tran's paintings referencing chemical warfare in Vietnam, and Cogitore's reinterpretation of Rameau's 'Les Indes galantes' with krump dancers.
