Le Fresnoy Donates 600 Films to French National Library
Le Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains has made a significant donation of 600 films to the Bibliothèque nationale de France. These works were produced at Le Fresnoy's studios between 1998 and 2013. The donation enhances the BnF's Audiovisual Department collections, which already contain over 1.5 million sound recordings. This transfer of materials occurred in March 2015. The films represent a substantial archive of contemporary artistic production from a leading French institution. The BnF's audiovisual holdings are notably expanded through this acquisition. This institutional gift preserves a major collection of moving image works for public access. The donation was reported in artpress issue 420.
