Le Centre: A New Cultural Hub in Cotonou, Benin
Opened in 2015, Le Centre is a cultural venue located in the Lobozounkpa area of Cotonou, funded by private French investment and led by Marion Hamard. Its mission revolves around contemporary art and the preservation of historical heritage, featuring the Petit Musée de la Récade. Established through collaborations between Beninese artist Dominique Zinkpè and Robert Vallois, it offers exhibitions, residencies, and educational initiatives, attracting a youthful audience of over 50%. Programs such as Des livres en partage and Les enfants s'amusent, along with a hip-hop workshop led by Arouna Guindo, are part of its offerings.
