Le Alleanze dei Corpi: Urban Dance Festival Returns to Milan
The second chapter of Le Alleanze dei Corpi, titled Communities in Movement, begins on September 24 in Milan's via Padova district and spreads to cultural hubs like Fabbrica del Vapore and BASE. The festival explores care and performativity of bodies in public space, aiming to activate collective experience and reconsider urban writing and power structures. It features DiscOnAir by Barbara Stimoli and Silvia Albanese, a performative dancefloor born from the pandemic. International artist Sarah Vanhee presents collected screams, a lecture performance on screaming as an act of power and vulnerability. Other participants include Valentina Medda, Chiara Bersani, Ariella Vidach, Salvo Lombardo, and Elisabetta Consonni. The program includes performances, installations, workshops, and a symposium in collaboration with BASE. The opening night also features Internazionale Corazon by Francesca Marconi with Sonia Garcia, reflecting on migration of knowledge and cultural codes from Peru to Milan. The festival title is borrowed from architect and urbanist Stavros Stavrides.
