Le Alleanze dei Corpi Festival Explores Care in Milan's Urban Fabric

The Le Alleanze dei Corpi festival runs in Milan until December 23, 2022, featuring performances, residencies, workshops, and talks across multiple neighborhoods. Curated by Maria Paola Zedda and Emanuele Braga, this year's edition centers on the theme of care, building on last year's focus on urban regeneration. The festival activates sites in Via Padova and San Siro, addressing body politics, social justice, and decolonial perspectives. Key projects include Valentina Medda's walks on nighttime safety for women and non-binary people, Ariella Vidach's free school of urban dance, Jacopo Miliani's vogueing practices, and Sara Mikolai and Enzo Cosimi's choreographic installations. In San Siro, Voci di Periferia presents trap concerts by women to decolonize music language, while Institute of Radical Imagination conducts militant inquiry on income, housing, and labor. Sara Leghissa transforms KIN space into a public sauna for ALER housing residents. The festival partners with DiDstudio, Landscape Choreography, ZEIT, KINlab, Standards, Aisha, Qcode, CURE, Micambio, BASE, PAC, Cinema Beltrade, 1,2,3 Mosso, and MARE culturale urbano. Funding comes from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and the Municipality of Milan.
