Le Alleanze dei Corpi: Dance and Anthropology in Milan

The project 'Le Alleanze dei Corpi' (The Alliances of Bodies) launches in Milan from March 2021 to June 2022, using dance and anthropology to explore the body's potential in participatory urban regeneration. Led by DiDstudio with partners Itinerari Paralleli, Progetto Aisha, ZEIT, and Stratagemmi_Prospettive Teatrali, it includes residencies, workshops, a festival, and a final exhibition in spring 2022. Artists Elisabetta Consonni, Francesca Marconi, Salvo Lombardo, and Guillaume Zitoun engage residents in the Martesana and via Padova neighborhoods. The initiative, funded by Comune di Milano's Obiettivo Focus grant, addresses social isolation and vulnerability exacerbated by the pandemic, with special attention to women victims of violence, sex workers, and migrants. Locations include public spaces, Fabbrica del Vapore, Mudec, and Base Milano. Curator Maria Paola Zedda emphasizes care as collective empowerment and reimagining the city as a body.
