Lazio Contemporaneo 2022: 550mila euro per giovani artisti e curatori under 35

The Lazio region has launched the 2022 edition of Lazio Contemporaneo, a call for proposals aimed at supporting young creative talents under 35, including students from art high schools, curators, and artists. The initiative was announced by regional president Nicola Zingaretti on October 17 at the MAXXI museum in Rome, fulfilling a promise made in February 2022 during the presentation of Damiana Leoni's book 'Vera'. The call, open from October 26 to December 14, 2022, is backed by €550,000 in funding. It covers three project types: exhibition proposals (monographic or collective, with a maximum contribution of €30,000 for projects lasting at least 28 days, even non-consecutively, in different venues), editorial productions (up to €20,000, with attention to print or digital formats in Italian and two foreign languages), and support for research and careers of artists and curators (also up to €20,000, in partnership with another organization). Additionally, 'Lazio Contemporaneo per le scuole', realized by Lazio Innova in collaboration with MAXXI, targets students in the final three years of art high schools (design, visual arts, fashion, architecture, scenography, graphics, multimedia communication) with tailored training programs. Fourth-year students will be asked to design and communicate 'new souvenirs' linking history, tradition, and contemporary visual languages. Schools can apply from December 1 to December 15, 2022.
