Stylist Law Roach attended the 2026 Met Gala for the fifth time, but for the first time made the night about himself rather than his clients. He wore a custom white three-piece suit by Ami designer Alexandre Mattiussi, which was hand-painted by Gabonese artist Naïla Opiangah with an abstract portrait of embracing figures in soft blues, earthy beiges, and warm greens. Opiangah, based in Ghana and trained as an architect, flew to Paris to paint the jacket; Roach FaceTimed her during the fitting so she could see the finished result. Roach described the collaboration as fated, noting his own title as 'Image Architect.' He also dressed actor Jeremy Pope in a look that echoed a corset from the Costume Institute exhibit. Roach debuted a diamond ring on his ring finger, which he confirmed was a gift but declined to elaborate. He recounted a moment of eye contact and laughter with Madonna during a performance, and later found himself in the bathroom with Matthieu Blazy, Rihanna, and A$AP Rocky, calling it the best hangout spot at the gala.
