Lavazza 2019 Calendar: Ami Vitale Captures Nature Art Across Four Continents

publication · 2026-05-04

The 27th edition of the Lavazza Calendar, titled 'Good to Earth,' was unveiled at the Nuvola in Turin. Developed in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme and under the creative direction of Armando Testa, the project features six environmental art installations across four continents. American photojournalist Ami Vitale, a six-time World Press Photo winner and National Geographic contributor, documented works by artists Hula, Mantra, Saype, Gomez, Millo, and Gerada. Each artwork corresponds to a virtuous Earth project—reforestation, biodiversity protection, or conversion of industrial zones into green areas—selected by Lavazza and UNEP. Locations include the Rhône Glacier, a Thai forest, Colombian coffee plantations, and the Moroccan desert. The calendar was presented at the Nuvola in Turin in November 2018.
