Latina Hosts Major Gianni Berengo Gardin Retrospective
From May 8 to May 25, 2025, the Italian city of Latina will present a significant exhibition honoring photographer Gianni Berengo Gardin at the Museo civico Duilio Cambellotti. Curated by Alessandra Mauro and Suleima Autore, this exhibition showcases Berengo Gardin's diverse works, featuring early photographs of Venice, industrial scenes from Milan, and explorations of socio-cultural issues, culminating in images from psychiatric hospitals and Romani communities. Born in 1930 in Santa Margherita Ligure, Berengo Gardin is celebrated for his social documentary photography, boasting over 360 solo exhibitions and more than 260 published photographic volumes. His accolades include the Prix Brassaï and the Lucie Award for Lifetime Achievement.
