Latifa Echakhch to Represent Switzerland at 2022 Venice Biennale

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

Switzerland will showcase its presence at the 2022 Venice Biennale, titled 'Il latte dei sogni' (The Milk of Dreams), featuring the work 'The Concert' by artist Latifa Echakhch at the Swiss Pavilion from April 23 to November 27, 2022, under the guidance of Cecilia Alemani. Born in Morocco in 1974 and now residing in Switzerland, Echakhch is represented by Dvir Gallery, kamel mennour, kaufmann repetto, and Pace Gallery. Commissioned by Pro Helvetia, her project reimagines the pavilion, originally designed by Bruno Giacometti in 1951, as an experience that reverses time. Collaborators include Alexandre Babel and Francesco Stocchi, who will create a vinyl record and a book focused on sound and rhythm, aiming to leave visitors with lasting memories reminiscent of a concert.
