artist · 2026-04-27

In Licenza, Italy, a new international artist residency named LARTRES has been launched within Monti Lucretili Regional Park, spearheaded by Lucina Giacopini and L'Aquila reale. The residency takes place at the historic 12th-century Palazzo Baronale Orsini, which is home to the MAO | Museo Archeologico Oraziano. The first cycle, titled 'Futurum Amoenus: Interpretare il passato per immaginare il futuro,' will take place during autumn 2021. Chilean artist Raúl Miranda will kick off the residency on August 23 with his project 'Carpe Diem.' Following him, Alicia Santamaria will showcase 'Per Amore' from September 1 to October 30, while Amparo Priero will explore collective memory. Francisco Navarrete Sitja's 'Palinsesto' is scheduled for November 1 to December 30. The initial projects were chosen through artist networks and an exchange program, with a potential new exhibition space set to open next spring.
