Lars Fisk's First Solo Show at Marlborough Gallery Features Psychedelic Globes
Lars Fisk presents his inaugural solo exhibition at Marlborough Gallery in New York, titled "MR. SOFTEE," running through October 15, 2016. The show displays Fisk's signature psychedelic sculptures, which distort everyday objects into globe-like forms, echoing M.C. Escher's 1935 work Hand with Reflecting Sphere. Among the pieces are warped cobblestone streets with manholes, a self-storage building facade, pencils, and a massive floor-to-ceiling parking lot globe. Fisk previously collaborated with Marlborough Chelsea on the 2014-2015 "Broadway Morey Boogie" installation along Broadway between 59th and 166th streets. His background includes stage design for the jam band Phish. Concurrently, the gallery hosts Joe Roberts's solo show in the viewing room and the group exhibition "SMS SOS" upstairs, featuring text-based works by artists such as Tony Matelli, Davina Semo, Aida Ruilova, and Devin Troy Strother. The gallery is located at 545 West 25th Street in New York, with contact information provided as 212 463 8634.
