Larry Fink curates film series at Armani/Silos in Milan

Photographer Larry Fink (Brooklyn, 1941) has curated a special film program for Giorgio Armani at Armani/Silos in Milan, where Fink's photographs are on view until July 30. Fink selected six films that connect to his two photographic series on display: 'The Beats' and 'The Vanities.' For 'The Beats,' he chose John Cassavetes' 'Shadows' (1959), Paul Mazursky's 'Next Stop, Greenwich Village' (1976), and 'On the Road' (2012), based on Jack Kerouac's novel. For 'The Vanities,' the selection includes Billy Wilder's 'Sunset Boulevard' (1950), George Cukor's 'A Star is Born' (1954) starring Judy Garland, and Sofia Coppola's 'Somewhere' (2010). Armani commented that cinema has been a great passion since childhood, influencing his aesthetic and serving as inspiration. He described Fink's film selection as mysterious and revealing, much like his photographs.
