Larry Chen Becomes Playable Character in Forza Horizon 6

Photographer Larry Chen, a Canon Explorer of Light, appears as a major character in Forza Horizon 6 (FH6), the latest installment of the racing video game series set in Japan. Chen recorded over 300 speaking lines across two voiceover sessions and underwent motion capture in July 2025 to create his in-game likeness. The game features six photography missions where players help Chen capture shots for a fictional magazine, "Moto Auto Zine." Playground Games used 250 Canon EOS 250D DSLRs for facial scanning. Chen's virtual persona wears his trademark cap, neck gaiter, joggers, and sneakers, and carries a Canon RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM lens. The game launched on Xbox Series S/X and PC on May 19, 2026, with a PlayStation 5 release later in the year. Chen's inclusion highlights the intersection of car culture and photography, offering players virtual access to Japan's automotive scene.
