Larisa Crunțeanu's Aria Mineralia at Zachęta Project Room explores camouflage and post-socialist labor
From October 20 to December 2, 2018, Larisa Crunțeanu showcased Aria Mineralia at the Zachęta Project Room in Warsaw. This installation incorporates ceramics, neon elements, costumes, and video pieces that playfully subvert the concept of camouflage. A key feature is a speaker, inspired by a readymade from Bucharest's Palace of the Parliament, which was intended to broadcast Crunțeanu's modified voice but did not successfully play the folk songs. The exhibition critiques the neoliberal landscape of post-socialist Bucharest. Crunțeanu's diverse work includes installation, performance, and film, having been previously displayed at the Romanian Cultural Institute in Berlin and Anca Poterasu Gallery. Esprit de Corps, another installation, includes decoy rock speakers and a sound collaboration with Laurențiu Coțac. The exhibition is part of the F vs F project, supported by Romania's National Cultural Administration Fund.
