Largest Immersive Tarsila do Amaral Exhibition Opens in São Paulo
The largest immersive exhibition ever dedicated to Tarsila do Amaral, titled 'O Brasil de Tarsila', opens on August 15 at a new experience center in the Conjunto Nacional on Avenida Paulista, São Paulo. The show celebrates the 140th anniversary of the modernist painter's birth with over ten environments featuring 360-degree projections, scenography, soundtracks, special effects, interactive elements, and olfactory experiences. Approximately 40 works are reinterpreted, including iconic pieces such as 'Abaporu', 'Antropofagia', 'A Cuca', 'Operários', 'O Sono', 'São Paulo', 'Religiões Brasileiras', 'Figura Só', and 'Autorretrato (Le Manteau Rouge)'. Curated by Paola do Amaral Montenegro, director of Tarsila do Amaral S.A., in partnership with Juliana Miraldi, the audiovisual content was created by visual artists without the use of artificial intelligence to preserve Tarsila's aesthetic identity. The exhibition is presented by the Ministry of Culture via the Federal Law for Cultural Incentives, produced by Tarsila S.A. and Live Idea, co-produced by Aventura and Deeplab Project. It aims to attract new audiences to Brazilian art, catering to families and first-time viewers. Visiting hours are Wednesday to Monday and holidays, from 10 am to 10 pm.
