Lapalma and Raffaella Mangiarotti unveil 16-shade chromatic alphabet
Lapalma, the Italian furniture brand, has unveiled a fresh color palette in collaboration with architect and designer Raffaella Mangiarotti. This palette, which made its debut at Salone del Mobile, features 16 hues that the company refers to as a "chromatic alphabet" suitable for its entire product line. The palette reinterprets seven existing colors—Bianco, Tortora, Mattone, Celeste, Pistacchio, Perla, and Nero—and introduces nine new ones: Sabbia, Limone, Corallo, Borgogna, Cannella, Oltremare, Alloro, Calce, and Gru. Mangiarotti's exploration of the brand's historical color usage guided the creation, ensuring that each shade complements materials like metal, wood, and plastic. The New Colour System is designed as a functional design tool, promoting a unified aesthetic across various forms and functions. Alberto Mora directed the art, while Salva López handled photography. The palette is accessible for Lapalma products, and inquiries can be made via email.
