Laowa Unveils World's Widest Probe Zoom Lenses for Cinematography

other · 2026-05-16

Laowa has introduced the 15-24mm T8 and 15-35mm T12 macro probe zoom lenses, which they assert are the widest macro probe lenses available globally, boasting an extensive focal range. Tailored for cinematic and commercial applications, these lenses provide a field of view of up to 110.5° on full-frame cameras. They incorporate a parfocal design, a minimum working distance of 5mm, and achieve magnification of up to 2.3x. A modular front system allows for four different viewing angles: direct, 35° angle, 90° periscope, and full periscope. The waterproof barrel, measuring 35cm, can rotate 360°. Both lenses come with an Arri PL mount and interchangeable bayonet options for various camera systems, with prices ranging from $3,500 to $22,000 based on configuration.
