Lana Del Rey will perform the theme song for the upcoming James Bond video game 007 First Light, scheduled for release in May 2026. The track was composed by David Arnold, who previously scored five Bond films. This marks a significant opportunity for Del Rey, who had a song rejected for the 2015 film Spectre, which instead featured Sam Smith's Oscar-winning Writing's On The Wall. The game features a young James Bond at age 26 as he joins MI6, with Patrick Gibson portraying 007 and Lenny Kravitz playing the villain Bawma. Gemma Chan appears as MI6 figure Selina Tan. Development faced delays, with IO Interactive announcing a two-month postponement in December to polish the game. Other artists have contributed to Bond game themes before, including Joss Stone in 2010 and Mya in 2004. Arnold praised Del Rey's elegance and unique character, hoping the song would attract new audiences to the Bond franchise. The track begins slowly before building to an orchestral chorus. Del Rey previously revealed she wrote her song 24 for a Bond film, expressing hope for future involvement in the espionage world.
