Lahore Biennale 2024: Of Mountains and Seas
The Lahore Biennale Foundation has revealed its third installment, named Of Mountains and Seas, which will be curated by John Tain and take place from October 5 to November 8, 2024. This edition showcases sixty artists from more than thirty nations, presenting site-specific installations at various locations in Lahore, including UNESCO World Heritage sites like Lahore Fort and Shalimar Gardens. The focus of this biennale is on ecological issues and sustainable futures, highlighting environmental challenges and indigenous heritage. Qudsia Rahim, the Executive Director, underscores the importance of cultural programming and inclusivity. The opening weekend (October 5–7) will feature special events, while the closing program (November 2–8) includes the Climate Congress, backed by the Getty Foundation. Admission is free for all.
