Laguna Beach Mansion Lists for $112 Million, Aiming for OC Record

An estate in Laguna Beach's Emerald Bay, designed by Fred Briggs, has hit the market for $112 million, potentially making it the priciest residence in Orange County. Originally commissioned in the early 1970s by investment banker Boyd Jefferies, it was later owned by WordPerfect cofounder Bruce Bastian. In 2001, automotive entrepreneur David Wilson and his wife Holly purchased the property for approximately $16 million, transforming it with a multimillion-dollar renovation. The home features around 14,400 square feet, including eight bedrooms and 15 bathrooms. Highlights include a grand room with soaring windows, a primary suite with a rotating bed under a retractable dome, a soundproof theater, and a wellness area with a gym and sauna. Outdoor features comprise an amphitheater, tennis court, and private beach access. The Wilsons are selling now that their children are grown, having relocated to Nevada in 2020. The listing is managed by Meital Taub and Jill Lockhart of Livel Real Estate, following a previous off-market sale in June for $110 million, which set the county's prior record.
