LagosPhoto Transforms into Biennial for 2025 Edition with Theme 'Incarceration' Across Lagos and Ibadan
Established in 2010 by the African Artists' Foundation (AAF), the LagosPhoto festival is set to transform into a biennial event in 2025, scheduled from 25 October to 29 November. The first LagosPhoto Biennial will be hosted in both Lagos and Ibadan, centered around the theme 'Incarceration,' which will explore themes of captivity across personal, political, and collective dimensions. Notable locations will include AAF's headquarters, Nahous Gallery, Freedom Park, and New Culture Studio. Artists participating in the event include Ayobami Ogungbe, Geremew Tigabu, Cesar Dezfuli, Stefan Ruiz, Yagazie Emezi, Nuotama Bodomo, Shirin Neshat, and Sharbendu De. The biennial aims to engage with global photographic dialogues, highlighting African viewpoints on displacement and ecological futures through a multi-modal approach.
