Lago Launches KIDS&YOUNG Collection and Manifesto for Contemporary Toys at Salone del Mobile
Italian furniture brand Lago has unveiled a new collection called KIDS&YOUNG during the 2016 Salone del Mobile, focusing on children's spaces. The collection embodies the brand's values of modularity and lightness. A scientific committee comprising Marnie Campagnaro, Virginio Briatore, and Turin-based studio BRH+ (Barbara Brondi and Marco Rainò), supported by the Lago Design Team, spent over a year researching ideal environmental conditions for children and adolescents to develop their personalities gradually and without pressure. Their research covered not only residential settings but also public spaces such as kindergartens, schools, libraries, and hospitals. Additionally, during design week, the Appartamento Lago at via Brera 30 hosts a workshop run by CILAB of the Politecnico di Milano, with professor Scianchi and coordination by Luca Fois, to draft a Manifesto for the Contemporary Toy. This manifesto will be published online and shared with designers, educators, and parents, aiming to revive the Italian toy tradition.
