Laetitia Bourget's 'Cultures-paysages' at Le Parvis, Pau

At Le Parvis centre d'art contemporain in Pau, from June 23 to October 1, 2005, Laetitia Bourget presented the video installation 'Cultures-paysages,' featuring a sound piece by Frédéric Nogray. The work uses degraded family photographs and slow tracking shots to explore the deterioration of images, likening it to skin diseases that disrupt representation. Bourget's manipulation of banal, found images creates a tension between surface reality and deeper, unsettling layers, forcing viewers into a riskier mode of looking. The exhibition was accompanied by a DVD published by Optical Sound – Records & fine Arts.
