Lady Tarin's Female Eroticism Photography Challenges Male Gaze

Lady Tarin, a mysterious Italian photographer, uses her lens to reclaim female eroticism as a vital force, countering the historically male-produced imagery of passive female nudes. She selects women with strong personalities, aiming to reveal their inner strength and sensuality. Her work, shot exclusively on black-and-white film since 2008, captures intimate, spontaneous moments far from clichéd lingerie and posed shots. One of her most famous series was shot at Bar Basso in Milan during a wild night of uninhibited celebration. Tarin, born in Rimini, studied in Bologna, and worked in Milan, has since disappeared from the scene. She cites Helmut Newton's powerful Amazonian women as an influence.
