LACMA Opens David Geffen Galleries with Member Previews and NexGenLA Celebration

From April 27 to May 3, 2026, LACMA will offer member previews and a sunset reception to celebrate the grand opening of the David Geffen Galleries, showcasing a fresh curatorial vision. A NexGenLA event for families is scheduled for May 3. Jazz at LACMA will resume on Friday nights from May through October, kicking off with Michelle Coltrane on May 1 to honor the John Coltrane Centennial. Ongoing exhibitions feature works by Ai Weiwei, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, and Lyndon J. Barrois, Sr., among others. The museum operates Monday and Tuesday from 11 am to 6 pm, Thursday from 11 am to 6 pm, Friday from 11 am to 8 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm. Additional activities include Communities Create LA! on May 2 and Andell Family Sundays on May 3.
