La Via Tardo Barocca: Digital Platform to Redefine UNESCO Site Experience in Val di Noto
The initiative titled 'La Via Tardo Barocca. Light, Stone and Wonder' seeks to improve the experience for visitors at the UNESCO-recognized Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto in Sicily. Spearheaded by Ragusa and involving the cities of Catania, Noto, Caltagirone, Modica, and Scicli, this project is backed by the Ministry of Tourism with a total budget of €893,000. It will feature seven multimedia Visitor Centers equipped with thematic displays and interactive technology. Additionally, a phygital ecosystem will be created on ARtGlass's platform, providing interactive routes and augmented reality experiences. Marketing strategies, a new website, and participation in significant tourism exhibitions are also part of the plan, as Mayor Peppe Cassì strives to enhance the region's appeal to tourists.
