La storia siamo noi: nuova residenza artistica a Fermignano

A Fermignano, in the Marche region, 'La storia siamo noi' is launched, an artistic residency project conceived by artist Giovanni Gaggia and art critic Pietro Gaglianò. This initiative emerged from the desire of Monica Scaramucci, the Municipality's Assessor for Services to the Person, Events, and Equal Opportunities. It aims to enhance the 'Popoli in festa' festival, now in its fourth edition, which brings together communities from Albania, Benin, Italy, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Pakistan, and Ukraine. The project features two main components: 'Una parola per Fermignano,' a workshop led by Gaglianò to gather untranslatable Italian words for a new multicultural vocabulary, and 'Giochi di carte,' a Briscola tournament where pairs play on handmade Fabriano paper. Gaggia plans to create an installation from these cards. Additionally, the residency connects with 'Stacciamiccia,' a children's literature festival directed by Alice Toccacieli, featuring stories from around the world narrated by the community. One story will be selected to inspire a performance by Gaggia and an analysis by Gaglianò, with narratives displayed on A3 panels and equipped with QR Codes in public spaces. The event will take place from May 14 to May 20, 2023.
