La Stanza: New Cultural Space Opens in Narni, Italy
La Stanza, a new cultural venue, has been established in Narni, Umbria, by writer Beppe Sebaste alongside collaborators Roberta Boccacci, Emanuela Manini, and Silvia Bordini. This innovative space merges private contemplation with public artistry, drawing inspiration from the medieval notion of 'stanza' (room) as referenced by Dante. Hosting seasonal events quarterly, La Stanza will explore various themes through exhibitions, readings, workshops, seminars, performances, concerts, and film screenings, engaging artists, poets, writers, video-makers, and philosophers. The opening event, scheduled for November 18-19, 2016, features a group exhibition titled 'Stanze – Ci sono cieli dappertutto,' showcasing artists like Andrea Aquilanti and Gianni Dessì, alongside poetry readings from writers including Brunella Antomarini and Sebaste. Sebaste chose Narni for its personal significance and restored the venue to highlight its original architectural elements, including trusses and arches.
