La Stanza: New Art Space Opens in Rome's Monti District

exhibition · 2026-05-05

On October 26, 2017, La Stanza opens in Rome's Monti district, a new space founded by Studio Pivot directors Vittoria de Petra and Beatrice Roccetti Campagnoli. The venue aims to support illustrators, designers, independent publishing, and authorial craftsmanship, providing a platform for emerging national and international talents. The inaugural exhibition features Marialaura Fedi, a young illustrator who studied at Accademia di Belle Arti and completed a master at Officina B5, and co-founded StudiOrtica in Trastevere. Her series Rome Wild Home celebrates the female figure and Rome's grand architecture, using gouache works like Piazza Cavour. Studio Pivot began in 2013 when four women under 26 united to promote contemporary art through exhibitions and events without a fixed space, previously showing at Palazzo della Zecca (2015) and Casa delle Letterature (2013). They have participated in international fairs including START Art Fair at Saatchi Gallery and Asia Contemporary Art Show in Hong Kong. Future projects involve a private collection of late-19th-century paintings tied to Lazio and Rome, and the archive of a 1960s Roman gallery focused on kinetic and cybernetic art.
