La Spezia Cruise Terminal Transforms into Art Gallery
The La Spezia Cruise Terminal, located in Largo Fiorillo, has been repurposed into a temporary art exhibition space, overseen by Società Spezia e Carrara Cruise Terminal, until the new waterfront at Calata Paita is finished. This year, it is expected to accommodate 179 large vessels and approximately 700,000 travelers. The showcase highlights local artists and is organized into five distinct sections, featuring items like 1990 FIFA World Cup memorabilia, vintage Liguria furniture, and creations from artists such as Walter Tacchini and Gloria Giuliano. Notably, Giuliano designed the poster for the 2023 Palio del Golfo. Mayor Pierluigi Peracchini and others introduced the initiative, which aims to enhance the port area with green spaces and leisure facilities.
