exhibition · 2026-04-27

In August 2019, Umberto Croppi took over as president of the Fondazione La Quadriennale di Roma, following Franco Bernabè. During a press conference attended by Rome's deputy mayor Luca Bergamo and others, Croppi presented the foundation's new vision. Established in 1927 by Cipriano Efisio Oppo, the Quadriennale has showcased 600 Italian artists from the 20th century and maintains 14,000 monographic files. The 17th edition is set to launch on October 1, 2020, at Palazzo delle Esposizioni, featuring a multimedia exhibition curated by Sarah Cosulich and Stefano Collicelli Cagol. A debate has emerged regarding the omission of Roman artists. Additionally, the foundation intends to move to the Arsenale, with renovations anticipated to finish in 2022.
