La Prima Cena: 11 Artists Reimagine Leonardo's Last Supper with Robotics and Community
On June 12, 2025, an engaging art installation named La Prima Cena, inspired by da Vinci's Last Supper, was held at the Santi Pietro e Paolo cloister in Ascoli Piceno. This project was the brainchild of Luigi Pagliarini, a pioneer in software art and robotics who sadly died in 2023. Valentina Tanni curated the event, with Ado Brandimarte leading the scientific aspects. Eleven Italian artists contributed, including Ado Brandimarte and Luca Bertini, among others. Attendees took the place of Christ at the table, while the artists’ works replaced the apostles. The installation combined interactive elements and technology, showcasing a fusion of art forms. Tanni described it as a shared artistic experience that emphasizes community and diversity.
