La Force de l'Art 02: A Triennial Curated by Three Distinct Personalities

The second edition of La Force de l'Art, a triennial founded in 2006 to survey contemporary French creation, is set to open. Unlike the first edition, which was hastily organized, this iteration has been prepared with more time and features an original curatorial approach. The exhibition is curated by a small team comprising Jean-Louis Froment, Didier Ottinger, and Jean-Yves Jouannais, who worked closely with architect and scenographer Philippe Rahm. Froment is known for his work at CAPC in Bordeaux, Ottinger curated exhibitions on Beckmann and Futurism at Centre Pompidou, and Jouannais is a former art press editor and author of an essay on idiocy. The three curators, despite their contrasting backgrounds, collaborated harmoniously to produce a selection that is both tight and eclectic, free from fashion trends. The triennial aims to present a diverse range of artworks, emphasizing quality over trendiness.
